Physicians often assume that dialing a toll-free 800 or 888 number means they are getting a bargain.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  There is no such thing as a "free" toll-free service because someone still has to pay the phone company.

Managing the cost of providing 800-service to physicians is one of the biggest challenges for a medical transcription service.  To cover the costs associated with interest and cash flow, long distance "toll-free" charges are built into a higher rate for service.

Our base price for access to Alert & Oriented's digital dictation system assumes that the client is paying any long distance charges.  If your clinic or group practice will be making a steady volume of calls to our digital dictation system, you will actually find it cheaper to dial direct and take advantage of the bulk rate discount your clinic/practice receives from its long distance carrier.
